Dear Families,
The mission of the GISU is to ensure that all members of the learning community are curious, creative, courageous, and capable of pursuing their aspirations in a diverse and ever changing world. As we all know, in order to do this we all constantly need to be learning so our students have access to the highest quality education possible.
This year, in order to support the learning of our educators, the GISU board approved 4 early release days so every educator could be a part of professional learning that is directly related to ensuring every child has access to high quality teaching, safe and healthy schools, and equitable experiences across the SU.
Early release/late start days are incredibly common in Vermont and across the nation. Most, if not all of our neighboring districts and SUs have some model of early release days. We understand that they do not come without impact to our families and caregivers.
In order to inform decisions about the future of early release days, please fill out this survey by March 8, 2024. The results will be shared with our GISU board and guide us in decision making.
Thank you for your support of our schools, teachers, and students.
Sup't Michael Clark
